All OpenZFS developers are invited to participate, and registration is now open. See http://www.open-zfs.org/wiki/OpenZFS_Developer_Summit for all of the details, including slides and videos from previous years' conferences. The goal of the event is to foster cross-community discussions of OpenZFS work and to make progress on some of the projects we have proposed. The first day of the conference will be set aside for presentations. *If you would like to give a talk, submit a proposal via email to matt@mahrens.org , including a 1-2 paragraph abstract.* We welcome proposals for any kinds of talks related to ZFS, and we are particularly interested in fostering a diverse group of speakers. In the past, the most popular talks have featured internal details of new or upcoming features in OpenZFS. If you're new to the OpenZFS community or just new to giving talks at conferences, mentorship is available to help make your presentation the best it can be. The registration fee will be waived for speakers. The deadlines are as follows: *July 16, 2018 All abstracts/proposals submitted* to matt@mahrens.org July 27, 2018 Proposal submitters notified September 10, 2018 OpenZFS Developer Summit The second day of the event will be a hackathon, where you will have the opportunity to work with OpenZFS developers that you might not normally sit next to, with the goal of having something, no matter how insignificant, to demo at the end of the day. This event is only possible because of the efforts and contributions of the community of developers and companies that sponsor the event. Special thanks to our early Diamond sponsors: Delphix , Datto , and OsNexus . Additional sponsorship opportunities are available. Please see the website for details and send email to Karyn.Ritter@delphix.com if you have any questions. --matt From owner-freebsd-fs@freebsd.org Tue Jun 5 00:55:10 2018 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-fs@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 26EB8FF0331 for ; We have one instance where we make use of rquotad. It appears that this is only supported for ufs at the moment. Has there ever been any interest in supporting ZFS user quotas in rquotad? Is there any current development happening with this? I believe the warnings are still at least partly true. The usual suggestion is to use "mount -o union" instead of "mount -t unionfs". (pNFS is an optional feature of NFSv4.1, so this is a component of the NFSv= 4.1 server already in the "nfsd".) The first attempt using GlusterFS was a failure and is just bitrotting. The second attempt is here: base/projects/pnfs-planb-server and seems to be working ok now. It is a big patch, but has survived a "make universe" and shouldn't affect = operation of the nfsd unless it is enabled will the new command option "-p". If you are interested in more information, you can look here: http://people.freebsd.org/~rmacklem/pnfs-planb-setup.txt I think the code is ready for head and I'd like to merge it in. So, I thought I'd ask others on the project if they are ok with me doing th= is? Thanks, rick=
