It predates ifunc and so = interprets anything with an ifunc as requiring a copy relocation. This = means that if you use it to link against any shared library (like, say, = libc.so.7 in FreeBSD 12.0) that uses ifuncs then it will insert a = relocation so that the ifunc resolver (which contains PC-relative = addresses of other functions) will be copied into the main binary. The most significant issue is sys/crypto/skein/amd64/skein_block_asm.s, and it makes extensive use of GNU macro extensions. I have looked at nasm and yasm but believe the macro extension support in those is less developed than in Clang's IAS. There are a number of files in stand/ tagged with CLANG_NO_IAS, in gptzfsboot, cdboot, zfsboot, boot2, and pxeldr. These could likely be removed now (they were added because Clang IAS did not support .codeNN long ago), but they need to be tested first because the generated output is slightly different. I.e. not a bug in the compiler, but in the program. Using a #define is the easiest workaround, otherwise the static variable sh= ould probably be moved into the class that is using it. And maybe an upstream P= R to have it properly fixed in the future. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-toolchain@freebsd.org Wed Nov 28 12:04:32 2018 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-toolchain@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id F3E3E11527C6 for ; Wed, 28 Nov 2018 12:04:31 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (mailman.ysv.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::50:5]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id ACCD371924 for ; Wed, 28 Nov 2018 12:04:31 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) id 6D74A11527C2; Wed, 28 Nov 2018 12:04:31 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: toolchain@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5A99511527C1 for ; Wed, 28 Nov 2018 12:04:31 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.ysv.freebsd.org (mxrelay.ysv.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client CN "mxrelay.ysv.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id D3CDA7191B for ; Wed, 28 Nov 2018 12:04:30 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 251F815837 for ; Wed, 28 Nov 2018 12:04:30 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id wASC4UlW050242 for ; Wed, 28 Nov 2018 12:04:30 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from www@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id wASC4U1v050241 for toolchain@FreeBSD.org; Wed, 28 Nov 2018 12:04:30 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: www set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: toolchain@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 233394] misc/gazebo: Static constructor isn't called in the C++ project (clang bug?)
