I'm sure you have been contacted regarding this before but our value proposition is much unique. As a business owner, you might be interested to attract more visitors. So you might be wondering, despite having a proficient website, why you are not able to overturn your competitors from the Top Search Results. This means websites having a single un-natural link are going to be penalized. So, we can help transform freebsd.org into one. *Why freebsd.org Needs Our Assistance:* - freebsd.org has low Domain Authority and Page Authority. - Relevant keyword phrases are not on 1st Page. - freebsd.org has Coding Errors. - freebsd.org is having On-Page and On-Site Issues. Poudriere Product: Documentation Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Documentation Assignee: doc@FreeBSD.org Reporter: vladimir.chukharev@gmail.com Two clarifications are needed in section '10.5. Poudriere' of the Porters Handbook. 1. Poudriere does not creates a directory DISTFILES_CACHE if does not exist, see https://github.com/freebsd/poudriere/issues/285 I suggest to add at the end of DISTFILES_CACHE description (in "10.5.2. Set= ting Up Poudriere") something like the following. You might need to create the directory manually if poudriere complains that= it does not exist. 2. There are changes in how to use manually managed ports, see https://github.com/freebsd/poudriere/wiki/use_system_ports_tree . I think, = this is to be reflected in '10.5.6. Using Manually Managed Ports Trees with Poudriere'. (I did not use the new method myself. I made a symlink before I found the description, but I cannot recommend doing that...) --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-doc@freebsd.org Thu May 9 04:41:45 2019 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id ECB3D159D543 for ; Thu, 9 May 2019 04:41:44 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from qi4u@yahoo.com) Received: from sonic313-15.consmr.mail.bf2.yahoo.com (sonic313-15.consmr.mail.bf2.yahoo.com [74.6.133.125]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256 (128/128 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id DEAD9762F9 for ; Thu, 9 May 2019 04:41:43 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from qi4u@yahoo.com) X-YMail-OSG: cQB2j78VM1l7GfHvuem14mBwLYm2ymXjrqfG5lplnKZ3SR8c0gXqJAd9_SjyXsB MoGMtxPk8qo_BJpGNYQ9eupOa67QsdT4s0Tf507wuBEjVyNXgvs99z3eBbhv9gwCFbtf9hXFFv0N Sr5X2yrP2mPI_YT1V2c.Wo.sXz6AFfDsJr4DIivQjUWjyf0vzbl59nRmQM1sMa6gePVRG0wef8wH NWmKm.0Y0E_LYwWZ8db3LRS7mEec8IyKSUjuBcF4tyffzbCuzKQDWgi7PPUADAn8kgmSUQ_eU5II Gxjx7OP4LoU6EvEwkwhOqJU8UWE45fCgrLD0pkX42uyzOjG9eQKg44PREhoeH3jzp_BLORovDexA KmfUt0djGuCOBhx5NoMQSnWqviGj36lUASRrFww6ky0Y771w_cdBMcXqp628EDU1gaxB1EaxkFYY sbsVRUZvYI3tej289l1C4kstWfak50tbV.1LOIlV56MFmWL5aFxTXLPoZdf1B1uPEn8sT7YBfm3K xbAAfpOKjktE6SqJcEE118b0auJrlCvVVNUUaFEyI_sRnkkGJi944KN3evDYiU3Jr1K_Z7E0PK01 iVJl1c4mpjpaliSx8oRCd9Whl_SSqgRPKY44M_.7G.ge.ynBFPt_G.DgtaYbP6m6BLEtf2rNLsz8 JTO7eJwv8nIx.YylUEDdMg8WnsbUcvvRsQGI7H5KH72u87m8wgZuSckP4KQ3U6djEBKY7gdAYPNl BCYrQFWB5VwvX8stHa6l4okltzWFU6suwe4P5PJaTxuHTMoiE02SxlKqsf41dvgQCKNwvJQz_rQf IJw8t1IhRoE7C9JVUSHdauRJbJ.jXQ1xySHHi9bhcHkOKeL2VTzRXnQjiXk39BlUmpydxJQti.VS TarauuBFQGseyhJDQOlre_m.RN2.FtsL9LKTcpiw6D31UM6x2_E0l2hFEHbDLfRs3RCB5hld2nh5 xeI4IhTrFySlcBgyQ9MWe1Pcl8viVSAuilX7.SbudEUEWCy7eJr6AqeayiXBmNNyJQvrgDuBQRbB EARIuhfQbHsrtIxDnpwGYZM.hfeKailhOZyfOx1_OZHBi8vgrZYMeDBdWMkdfso3vMdyuRMC58xV bkMfICgoTKelRmCU9blTS0Txfs.FHaxo6uo0vf43fBAu.Q4jhFR6T1QKwfTbXXIiTFkgFBCvfmSh 6g83bt0bY_hBvggig Received: from sonic.gate.mail.ne1.yahoo.com by sonic313.consmr.mail.bf2.yahoo.com with HTTP; Thu, 9 May 2019 04:41:37 +0000 Date: Thu, 9 May 2019 04:31:24 +0000 (UTC) From: Shody Ryon To: "freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.org" Message-ID: <1074176825.1909995.1557376284793@mail.yahoo.com> Subject: freeBSD Handbook typo? Thanks for your query, but No. "Take on board" is correct. (Think of taking goods or people on board ship, & the cry "All aboard!") Though FreeBSD docs, manuals, & particularly mail lists etc abound in typos & bad grammar, People care more about getting the code right, so spelling mistakes often gets left, just fixed in passing if noticed. > if so, would it be helpful if i were to send any other typos i fine to this address? > thanks for what you doshody No, - It would be inefficient - There's low reponse to commiting fixes from things reported to this particular list. - Lower response to typos (too much hastle for benefit) - Official way to report bugs is https://www.freebsd.org/support/bugreports.html- Its too much hastle all round for typos. - Being r dyslexic, further raises the cost/benefit ratio of filing & clearing spelling fixes. Best dont bother with that, instead do something more efficient, eg maybe: - correct tech facts in docs, & leave others to correct spellings - or write code. (if dyslexia does not affect ability to write code?). - or test new releases & current & report back, there's often calls for testers - or run a user goup - or organise install events etc Enjoy :-) Cheers, Julian -- Julian Stacey, Consultant Systems Engineer, BSD Linux Unix, Munich Aachen Kent http://stolenvotes.uk Brexit ref. stole votes from 700,000 Brits in EU.
