As suggested I did replace the linux syscall use with rt builtins, that fixed the SIGSYS issue. I confirm there is an issue with the base clang when using optimization, I had to dis= able it. I suppose that employing llvm80 may help resolve this issue, however I can't test it as I don't have enough storage on that host. Please see the joined patch which permits an installation with both HIPE and NATIVE. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. Hi Kim, Remember you can always use erlang-runtime21 (or even erlang-runtime22 now) directly. atm there are only a handful of people who've tested and given feedback, so if you want to apply Jimmy's 3 patches and try it out, please do so. These need to be applied in order: https://reviews.freebsd.org/D19911 https://reviews.freebsd.org/P253 (additional tweak from me) https://reviews.freebsd.org/D19912 (elixir) https://reviews.freebsd.org/D19913 (rabbitmq) Alternatively, if you use git, grab this: patch: https://git.sr.ht/~dch/ports/commit/a8d71d3f9931ea8dec4ba646163a4c7c4e16534d.patch pretty: https://git.sr.ht/~dch/ports/commit/a8d71d3f9931ea8dec4ba646163a4c7c4e16534d A+ Dave From owner-freebsd-erlang@freebsd.org Fri May 24 11:00:49 2019 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-erlang@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4E1AE15A77FD for ; Fri, 24 May 2019 11:00:49 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (mailman.ysv.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::50:5]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id D5EE4884EB for ; Fri, 24 May 2019 11:00:48 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) id 8FA7415A77FA; Fri, 24 May 2019 11:00:48 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: erlang@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7BA9A15A77F9 for ; Fri, 24 May 2019 11:00:48 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.ysv.freebsd.org (mxrelay.ysv.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.ysv.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 13DE4884E5 for ; Fri, 24 May 2019 11:00:48 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 5D76915A86 for ; Fri, 24 May 2019 11:00:47 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id x4OB0l9B009901 for ; Fri, 24 May 2019 11:00:47 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from www@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id x4OB0lu5009900 for erlang@FreeBSD.org; Fri, 24 May 2019 11:00:47 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: www set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: erlang@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 237960] lang/erlang does not build on arm with the NATIVE option Date: Fri, 24 May 2019 11:00:47 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo CC X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Ports & Packages X-Bugzilla-Component: Individual Port(s) X-Bugzilla-Version: Latest X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: mikael.urankar@gmail.com X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: erlang@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: maintainer-feedback? I'd strongly recommend submitting this upstream directly (patch or no patch= ), they're very receptive to FreeBSD in general and IIRC do test continuously internally. https://bugs.erlang.org/ BTW my general advice for both HiPE and native is not to use them unless you're hitting limits and you can see that your workload benefits from them. In some cases, they don't help, and their broad community usage is much less than "plain BEAM". OTP 22, for example, adds new opcodes to the VM that are not supported by HiPE. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
