But looking around shows that SYSDIR being empty/undefined can lead to PARAMFILE being /sys/param.h directly. A grep shows for PARAMFILE : /usr/src/include/Makefile: env NEWVERS_SH=3D${NEWVERS_SH} = PARAMFILE=3D${PARAM_H} SYSDIR=3D${SYSDIR} \ /usr/src/sys/conf/newvers.sh:RELDATE=3D$(awk = '/__FreeBSD_version.*propagated to newvers/ {print $3}' = ${PARAMFILE:-${SYSDIR}/sys/param.h}) and for PARAM_H : /usr/src/include/Makefile:PARAM_H=3D ${SYSDIR}/sys/param.h /usr/src/include/Makefile:osreldate.h: ${NEWVERS_SH} ${PARAM_H} = ${MK_OSRELDATE_SH} /usr/src/include/Makefile: env NEWVERS_SH=3D${NEWVERS_SH} = PARAMFILE=3D${PARAM_H} SYSDIR=3D${SYSDIR} \ I got the message for the above from doing: poudriere -x jail -c -m src=3D/usr/src -J 32 -v head@355027 -j = testBugzilla215561 (with an appropriate env MAKEOBJDIRPREFIX=3D. . . for my environment). This is the fix I intend to send upstream for review: commit e02cbe3668cc63c8da1fed404c306c1ed50235f3 Author: Gustavo Romero Date: Mon Dec 9 07:37:49 2019 -0500 devel/gcc9: Fix ICE due to wrong singleton get() use Currently get() method of singleton is being used in a way a new class = is instantiated, which call singleton dtor's freeing memory that is refere= nced after free() is called generating an internal compiler error. Fix is simply call get() appropriately, i.e. call it directly since it'= s in fact an static method, just as usually any get method in a singleton is= by design. diff --git a/gcc/dumpfile.c b/gcc/dumpfile.c index 7ea8f85..fc17fe9 100644 --- a/gcc/dumpfile.c +++ b/gcc/dumpfile.c @@ -2076,7 +2076,7 @@ temp_dump_context::temp_dump_context (bool forcibly_enable_optinfo, bool forcibly_enable_dumping, dump_flags_t test_pp_flags) : m_context (), - m_saved (&dump_context ().get ()) + m_saved(&dump_context::get()) { dump_context::s_current =3D &m_context; if (forcibly_enable_optinfo) Could you please try and check if it fixes the error you've posted? Thanks for trying the patch. So, on 64-bit if the patch is not applied you get the ICE exactly as in Canardo's first comment in this bug, i.e. on gcc9 selftest code? Is it G5 or a different machine? I'm asking because it looks a different ICE than the one reported by Canard= o in this bug. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-toolchain@freebsd.org Mon Dec 9 15:30:57 2019 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-toolchain@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 38B8E1D9366 for ; Mon, 9 Dec 2019 15:30:57 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (mailman.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:13]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 47WnG90rLgz3GBk for ; Mon, 9 Dec 2019 15:30:57 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) id 1B15E1D9365; Mon, 9 Dec 2019 15:30:57 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: toolchain@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1ADA41D9364 for ; Mon, 9 Dec 2019 15:30:57 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 47WnG86tp0z3GBh for ; Mon, 9 Dec 2019 15:30:56 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id E80851C995 for ; Mon, 9 Dec 2019 15:30:56 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id xB9FUuV2000675 for ; Mon, 9 Dec 2019 15:30:56 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from www@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id xB9FUuZ6000674 for toolchain@FreeBSD.org; Mon, 9 Dec 2019 15:30:56 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: www set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: toolchain@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 242506] [PowerPC] lang/gcc9: cc1: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault (on FreeBSD 12.1-RELEASE-p1) Date: Mon, 09 Dec 2019 15:30:56 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Ports & Packages X-Bugzilla-Component: Individual Port(s) X-Bugzilla-Version: Latest X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: gustavo.romero@protonmail.com X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: toolchain@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-toolchain@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.29 Precedence: list List-Id: Maintenance of FreeBSD's integrated toolchain List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 09 Dec 2019 15:30:57 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D242506 --- Comment #9 from Gustavo Romero --- (In reply to canardo from comment #5) Hi Canardo, Thanks for trying the patch. It was genuinely a question. The pro= -ARM thought for getting it in arch.7 early is that it broadens awareness to may= be someone who has time and interest to take up the work before 13.0, and that timeframe is coming up quickly so the sooner we can find a motivated party,= the better. I don't feel strongly about it either way; my motivation around my prior work in this area was mostly just about having the libunwind API available on a broader set of FreeBSD archs. llvm-libunwind (via libgcc_s) provides that API, while gcc4's libgcc does not. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-toolchain@freebsd.org Fri Dec 13 02:44:02 2019 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-toolchain@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E71A71E07F2 for ; Fri, 13 Dec 2019 02:44:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (unknown [127.0.1.3]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 47Yw3Q4KCPz4PlW for ; Fri, 13 Dec 2019 02:44:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) id 927501E07F1; Fri, 13 Dec 2019 02:44:02 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: toolchain@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 923941E07F0 for ; Fri, 13 Dec 2019 02:44:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 47Yw3Q3PKBz4PlV for ; Fri, 13 Dec 2019 02:44:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 701A4594E for ; Fri, 13 Dec 2019 02:44:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id xBD2i2Yb057193 for ; Fri, 13 Dec 2019 02:44:02 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from www@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id xBD2i2fn057192 for toolchain@FreeBSD.org; Fri, 13 Dec 2019 02:44:02 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: www set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: toolchain@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 242506] lang/gcc9: cc1: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault (on FreeBSD 12.1-RELEASE-p1) Date: Fri, 13 Dec 2019 02:44:01 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Ports & Packages X-Bugzilla-Component: Individual Port(s) X-Bugzilla-Version: Latest X-Bugzilla-Keywords: needs-patch X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Some People X-Bugzilla-Who: koobs@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Status: Open X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: gerald@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: maintainer-feedback? merge-quarterly?
