Well, if you manually do a snapshot, there's a checkbox which is usually checked to snapshot the VMs memory. I guess when VEEAM does a backup, it doesn't snapshot the memory and thus the bug never triggers. I asked about this on stable a while back, too and got this answer. Not sure about migrations. I haven't had any problems. Then the above didn't work anymore, so a bit reluctantly I added -I/usr/local/include to the CFLAGS above, fearing that some other random include file could be picked up. Are there any know issues with this? If it's working for you, that's fine. If you like to minimize linking with ports libraries, use updated instructions from the Handbook. Sendmail will build and link with base system libssl/libcrypto and use only libsasl2 from ports/packages. Hi, I encountered this bug sometime last year; this year in April it was bothersome enough to try to do something about it. I "fixed" it by compiling and installing a new kernel with everything USB-related removed. Fortunately the machine does not need a USB peripheral of any sort. I've only ever run 12-stable on this machine. And it gave the usb error messages with nothing = usb attached, before installing the new kernel. --=20 J. --RnlQjJ0d97Da+TV1 Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQIzBAABCAAdFiEE8n3tWhxW11Ccvv9/s8o7QhFzNAUFAl8y7OcACgkQs8o7QhFz NAWAWQ//SmVmbzHXIYRvb3vNxR4ZwUGZKQZtSydsAatbiQcshXjguHvtQPqcEWtl VL9ImqC+5rMUaYZ06YqMozWDpkF5EffDdy5MW6U8pZRPOZkJdIb9/i3YQSa/i9tD eVHTJgDGfm9vtv8nQoH4kCvUBTXIE0pioDUrKbfNVkfwKc0BxQ5S7g3kIhIUDjMm DUN0SyVBCCSvVTTDblvU6DBLkzgzSWutK+iXVmdxomV6RefUDpxkRx+flwxSsqiL 1qUfFWwsEergTj2L3a5+NYanc72/5eBiY39xCkwinyUQaFjFfnB/cgk7ZR8f0lBJ lEU92FO3UWI/h497Zhi1+sGeH9TdHvWtEygf7kDXuv8yKFrHkRZgm2TKtaOqul+i bCiUr/MZil8bWs9IHO6zPsJHE2qmZKqg0DSwTNY7c7FfSti1zzQ8oq7mr8daohZa Ki2KNYLrxVIGSVAhiwOL+7kg2to63ACk4MKjH8OIjLwfjygjZLK7tFRRzcukq/Pw Hkt4vlpHFuPlLYMafcio50YDzAQyRjiouaNnvpygU2k0kty0j7ckfX+RZwgSp9wt jf5Vsc/AopiDMySaeOUJZHLw+6nTjBPoaAx7jqt/WZztIXAhBi6IdCsk9UwnAOzH 13T196kK8oB3MgR1lMRVDK3O3N+69wAJp5q2YfkncVpTmrUTzi4= =BsnO -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --RnlQjJ0d97Da+TV1-- From owner-freebsd-stable@freebsd.org Wed Aug 12 11:40:41 2020 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-stable@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0010037D5B1 for ; Wed, 12 Aug 2020 11:40:40 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gerard_seibert@outlook.com) Received: from NAM02-SN1-obe.outbound.protection.outlook.com (mail-sn1nam07olkn2013.outbound.protection.outlook.com [40.92.44.13]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client CN "mail.protection.outlook.com", Issuer "GlobalSign Organization Validation CA - SHA256 - G3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4BRSSR3KF6z3Xw2 for ; Wed, 12 Aug 2020 11:40:39 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gerard_seibert@outlook.com) ARC-Seal: i=1; a=rsa-sha256; s=arcselector9901; d=microsoft.com; cv=none; b=NcL3xDX2zqsioa7coY6/uzF9Me1tAzz0JNSCAS8dwGNF44aMFvVwMYMju6s1ujUoxZ/FRn6+YTkefXe0gx1oCg1ZrAJBOBcsmykYXhmm6l0q/OcECwE9HpOj1Xu48ftqQfVx/PJJEWAyb2zw1ZKCHZKKpcf7jMsOXdFY5Tst/edxyGCbRarQbXUzc5Qgmq5WjcQC8IYW1ZZLA4AqjlxCVpDk1dDIAiBb+OW2tXhReBq5yRMqZBa8kPDjptlDfd0sXYOfmKVHC/eXtJ35YXKSxvWmJyQvYFGIVQhjMt8kcFpHCmveD0Tp/EoQ915h8aYawkI8FgMWlmayoLU6nSBMSA== ARC-Message-Signature: i=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=microsoft.com; s=arcselector9901; h=From:Date:Subject:Message-ID:Content-Type:MIME-Version:X-MS-Exchange-SenderADCheck; bh=S1QhSqRHuwtE1Tg+ZskgOlJnj8OGuSC5umyKuzH4i3g=; b=M1rKYOEKGjIch+nfwx2ZiSchtuUeXFtvBf3A1NBCWg7v6Jp/MMpRF1UERM3LDr/zVEYldjUOEg36jNnDP44IVYUs/SXICYxmNXYv2z7UjlMKQ2wUM9s9dkF1Ai1XJOqbYE8GFLehIlBD8FX0ievOxmPxASBsjAThodHArF9tMSgBlLJRLoVORERIGuKW5Olmue+1rjmlkkBiL02OSMgomZycR8quiHqqoPvpRb22Bxqmyi144nDJqGFnTMQszH8DNwxd8CGYkSnpDi45AO4b0d4htcZj+u8ypeiz7bAKAXeProFQCzrQ1xqwuYf3mPdFd6XNUhxdHPHonOp79JPbRA== ARC-Authentication-Results: i=1; mx.microsoft.com 1; spf=none; dmarc=none; dkim=none; arc=none DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=outlook.com; s=selector1; h=From:Date:Subject:Message-ID:Content-Type:MIME-Version:X-MS-Exchange-SenderADCheck; bh=S1QhSqRHuwtE1Tg+ZskgOlJnj8OGuSC5umyKuzH4i3g=; b=fwJ1xt9+Pm5JqJH6LaAC8HfYLzTAiQ3JaJ9vTFoRZ0t0fOEsbThsWafGhgyIs/Wh2U+dplUO14m8mD7lWp6cYSMOjBQj8tY3C4WzSP4PR6OP4uFaG36gpjEuZlc7VdNuwIbPiCNwUa6nLqSIeNzJcyFEqJFkE7FZLyc2c2wm2/gRhUOF+3qZBy1lVIMu6zuSRBtiJlWJdGcZzYYoRUw5I+73SEM/E8i/5jmA66BeXaCL7mEa4Ar7Hou3ZWYAqVt5OyY/k5uXgh0W3vSft8+ERdBoGsQUwTnoRK4O2SM5dklXMIFlwYHNRmAQ06Ysq80yi0BWUjERncCN4s3BAQ0FWw== Received: from CY1NAM02FT032.eop-nam02.prod.protection.outlook.com (10.152.74.57) by CY1NAM02HT110.eop-nam02.prod.protection.outlook.com (10.152.75.196) with Microsoft SMTP Server (version=TLS1_2, cipher=TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_GCM_SHA384) id 15.20.3261.19; Wed, 12 Aug 2020 11:40:37 +0000 Received: from DM6PR02MB5228.namprd02.prod.outlook.com (2a01:111:e400:7e45::42) by CY1NAM02FT032.mail.protection.outlook.com (2a01:111:e400:7e45::440) with Microsoft SMTP Server (version=TLS1_2, cipher=TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_GCM_SHA384) id 15.20.3283.16 via Frontend Transport; Wed, 12 Aug 2020 11:40:37 +0000 X-IncomingTopHeaderMarker: OriginalChecksum:74A66A3F244195E6FB51BD28A9E1C313CD48F02B1759D0D72236E40F07DAA699; UpperCasedChecksum:12DEE066945B310AD87027BDE5FAD5D1559FBCE068B57CCF47F960CDC5FF1621; SizeAsReceived:8415; Count:54 Received: from DM6PR02MB5228.namprd02.prod.outlook.com ([fe80::1d99:e21c:1d8e:1775]) by DM6PR02MB5228.namprd02.prod.outlook.com ([fe80::1d99:e21c:1d8e:1775%3]) with mapi id 15.20.3283.016; Wed, 12 Aug 2020 11:40:37 +0000 X-Virus-Status: Clean X-Virus-Scanned: clamav-milter 0.102.4 at scorpio.seibercom.net Date: Wed, 12 Aug 2020 07:40:24 -0400 From: "Gerard E. Many people, like myself, need a USB port(s). What I find so annoying is that this bug did not exist prior to version 12.x; therefore, it is obvious that something changed. I am not a highly skilled system programmer, so my chances of discovering the problem are at best nil. However, the person or persons who wrote the code should be aware of what has changed and either revert it to it former working condition or fix it in its present state. This situation has gone on for over a year and continued through two major versions. That is just not acceptable. Perhaps, if we could collect a list of the know systems that are affected by this bug, it might help the developers to discover the source of the problem. Sendmail will build and > link with base system > libssl/libcrypto and use only libsasl2 from ports/packages. Then the question is whether I need openssl libraries from ports, when I use that for all ports with DEFAULT_VERSIONS+=ssl=openssl due to QT5 requirements? If I want to link with openssl from ports, it looks like I anyway need SENDMAIL_LDFLAGS=-L/usr/local/lib, otherwise the linker will pick up libssl and libcrypto from base. Previous sendmail version was incompatible with openssl 1.1+, so Handbook updated before 11.4-RELEASE to make sure sendmail is built and linked with stock openssl, or else build failed. It seems updated sendmail in stable branches made compatible with openssl 1.1+, so the choice is yours.
