The release notes now includes this:

# gcc now uses a unified libgcc rather than a separate one fro threaded
# and non-threaded programs.  This provides threaded programs with the
# needed exception frame symbols. [MERGED]

Dumb question:  Is that the same thing?  If so, is there a better (i.e.
more meaningful) way for me to word this?  Something like:

# gcc now uses a unified libgcc for threaded and non-threaded programs. 
# /usr/lib/libgcc_r.a should be removed. [MERGED]

(I also just realized that I somehow forgot to MFC this in the release
notes , but I'll wait for feedback)
