It's just much less frequent in this >case. I've also seen this behaviour in both 5.x and 6.0 (I can't recall if it bit me in 4.x). In my case, the trigger is OpenOffice.org - one of the offending processes is almost always OOo/program/pagein. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get to the bottom of this (and my son isn't happy that OOo keeps deadlocking on him). -- Peter Jeremy
