How could have I been more direct in my questions?

Why???? Are you planning to add this to every command. What purpose
does this serve, or what problem does it work around?

You also fixed the exit(1) to use exit(EX_USAGE), that should have
been mentioned here.

Read it very dry, direct, and without sarcasm. I am normally quite
dry and direct with things. I don't post unless I expect answers to
issues I have raised. That's why I've been so quite for so long, not
much has alarmed me that someone else didn't jump on.

It would probably only confuse you in my case. My personality changes
significantly from when I am sitting in my office in a work environment
and when I am at a social gathering.

You won't get unexpected sarcasm from me, and that should have been
clear by the second or third email on this subject.
