The sound system seems to work. I can play .au files successfully through kaboodle on kde but this is rather an overkill (and I don't normally run kde). Surely there is a simple utility to take a .au file and spit it out as sound. I've looked through the ports (and installed a number) but not yet found what I'm looking for - or I've failed to use them correctly. Malcolm
