That's a significant limitation, because it means you can't use the
latest versions of the applications without upgrading the OS, e.g. if
you want to use the latest Apache then either you have to be keeping up
to date with -stable or you have to roll your own installation, which
negates one of FreeBSD notable features, the ports collection.
