Then why does `startx 2>/tmp/z' print the message Cannot open /dev/vga: No such file or directory on the last line of /tmp/z? (X works fine. This is under 1.1.5, X from the 1.1 cdrom, XF86_SVGA server, syscons, NCONS=4, gettys on ttyv[0-3].) Bruce
