The successful candidate will have extensive experience constructing, troubleshooting, and maintaining kernel components in complex product environments. Extensive knowledge of Unix, C/C++ (and relevant lower level languages), and hardware integration is required. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: · Architect and design kernel level software systems in Unix-based environment. · Construct, maintain, and support kernel components in multiple product lines, principally in C/C++ and lower level languages. · Work in a team environment with hardware engineering and application engineering to deliver products to market. · And any other duties that may be assigned or necessary. · This position may be required to work extensive overtime, as necessary, depending on department and project schedules and requires regular attendance Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: · Expert knowledge of low-level software engineering practices. · Extensive experience troubleshooting complex, high-speed systems involving hardware and software. · Ability to work effectively in a team environment. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Self-motivated individual that is committed to the attainment of project goals. · Familiarity with networking technologies.
