I guess that under current (3.0R) Adaptec cards are best supported. For other releases I suggest some Symbios chip based card. ASUS made or not I don't care, only look for SCSI bios on the board if you want to boot from SCSI disk. Some motherboards have Symbios SCSI bios built-in, but I prefer onboard. YMMV.
