I wish too see all gethostbyname() will be replaced by getaddrinfo()
in the future. I believe it is worth to get rid of the obstacles to
achieve it. I'll discuss with KAME guys about how to deal with it,
then I'll commit it into FreeBSD.

There is a discussion in IPng. Please refer
draft-ietf-ipngwg-default-addr-select. There is an experimental
implementation of it in KAME repo.
