Joe - You may want to simply upgrade to the latest stable version (version 3.4), your 2.1.5 version is rather dated. You can find information on downloading and installing the latest version on the web pages. As I understand it, all known Y2K issues are addressed in this version. As far as learning about FreeBSD; you may want to purchase one of the better books about it.
