Er, well, let's say that it now conforms to what we *think* the spec 
should be.  I'll repeat that the PH as it stands now doesn't cover the 
case we've been discussing, although it sounds like PW might be 
amenable to revising this part of the document.  Maybe after the 
release there'll be time to deal with this.

No worries.  Like you say, it's most important that it behaves correctly
in all cases we think it needs to (I still don't know how we should deal
with vim).
