First of the ie0 device is the wrong device for an NE2000.  You 
should use the ed device below. I copied this directly from
the LINT file.  Edit your kernel config file
in /usr/src/sys/i386/conf/YOUR_CONFIG_FILE and put a # pound
sign infront of every NIC except ed.  Recompile and install
your kernel.  Unless you have some freaky revision that isnt 
supported this should do the trick.

# ed: Western Digital and SMC 80xx; Novell NE1000 and NE2000; 3Com 3C503
