Manoli,

I built current in another machine's folder, addressed my laptop to boot 
from lan having this folder as it's nfsroot, and even then I kept having 
the problem. Then I compiled a kernel without firewire support (the 
whole section was excluded), and as you foresaw, the laptop booted 
eventually. I understand that this is a work around, but I think that 
somebody from the fbsd development team should maybe take a look at it, 
and resolve this issue.
