General advice:
1. There will be no fairings.
2. Never commit without doing 'cvs diff' and reviewing the diffs,
   repeated until you feel the diffs are ready for commit (with the
   last action before a commit being a diff, not an edit).  See point #1.
3. Do not copy a "new version" of a file on top of another version of
   the file if you can avoid it.  If you find you have to, remember
   point 2.  And point #1.
4. Remember point #2.   And point #4.
