I'm having a different problem. I'm trying to connect my notebook's Atheros A/B/G Mini-PCI card to the Netgear FWAG114 Dual-Band A/G ProSafe VPN Wireless Firewall which is configured for 128bit Shared WEP. It works correctly under Windows XP when I swap the HD with the Windows XP HD but couldn't get it working under FreeBSD. boot messages contains: ath0: mem 0xf8fe0000-0xf8feffff irq 11 at device 3.0 on pci2 ath0: [GIANT-LOCKED] ath0: mac 5.6 phy 4.1 5ghz radio 1.7 2ghz radio 2.3 ath0: Ethernet address: 00:80:c8:12:03:dd ath0: 11a rates: 6Mbps 9Mbps 12Mbps 18Mbps 24Mbps 36Mbps 48Mbps 54Mbps ath0: 11b rates: 1Mbps 2Mbps 5.5Mbps 11Mbps ath0: 11g rates: 1Mbps 2Mbps 5.5Mbps 11Mbps 6Mbps 9Mbps 12Mbps 18Mbps 24Mbps 36M bps 48Mbps 54Mbps This is how I tried to configure it: ifconfig ath0 inet 192.168.2.3 netmask 255.255.255.0 ssid DNALOGIC-NETGEAR11G wepmode on wepkey 0xD4B1F086AF47A4A35DF4F4604E ifconfig ath0 output: ath0: flags=8843 mtu 1500 inet6 fe80::280:c8ff:fe12:3dd%ath0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x3 ether 00:80:c8:12:03:dd media: IEEE 802.11 Wireless Ethernet autoselect (DS/1Mbps) status: no carrier ssid DNALOGIC-NETGEAR11G 1:DNALOGIC-NETGEAR11G channel 6 authmode OPEN powersavemode OFF powersavesleep 100 rtsthreshold 2312 protmode CTS wepmode MIXED weptxkey 1 wepkey 1:104-bit Anyone have any ideas since the status keeps saying no carrier. Also, how does one make it so that it will get the IP via DHCP instead from the Wireless Router? Thanks. Cheers, Vince
