I think one project that should be attempted is to get FreeBSD running on top of a Linux kernel. This could potently solve FreeBSD's biggest problems.... We could mold it (the Linux kernel) into are own kernel while still maintaining compatibility with the real Linux kernel tree. anyhow... it's something to think about.
