Running ldconfig with no arguments is a death sentence for Free BSD. I believe the default should be to rebuilt the hints based on the system files. It seems like if you run ldconfig with no arguments it wipes all the hints. Since root uses bash as a shell I can not find a way to login and fix this. even the console has the problem You have mail. /libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libintl.so.6" not found, required by "-bash" Will a reboot cure this or do i have to go single user?
