Hello, I'm running the in the Subject: mentioned combination with a very recent CURRENT (May 28) on my laptop (Dell Precision M4400); all is fine with X and NVIDIA until I enable a second external display which I want to use in 1024x768 mode (to attach a beamer) and connected with the main display of the laptop 1920x1200 in the so called "Xinerama mode" where one can drag & drop applications from one screen to the other. Having enabled this, after some random time (between some minutes and an hour) the Xserver crashes with always the same backtrace: Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0x0810de29 in miPointerWarpCursor () (gdb) bt #0 0x0810de29 in miPointerWarpCursor () #1 0x080b9841 in xf86ReconfigureLayout () #2 0x0810dabe in miPointerUpdateSprite () #3 0x08167083 in RenderSampleCeilY () #4 0x0808db79 in ConfineToShape () #5 0x08091418 in CheckMotion () #6 0x0817072a in ProcessOtherEvent () #7 0x081975fb in XkbHandleActions () #8 0x08197edd in XkbProcessKeyboardEvent () #9 0x0819052b in AccessXFilterPressEvent () #10 0x08190773 in AccessXFilterPressEvent () #11 0x08121544 in SetScreenSaverTimer () #12 0x08121b47 in WaitForSomething () #13 0x081daba0 in AnyClientsWriteBlocked () (gdb) I have started already a thread in the NVIDIA support corner for FreeBSD which can be seen here: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=133977 The crash occurs with all recent NVIDIA versions, i.e. 180.44 (from the ports), 180.60 and 185.18.14 directly fetched and compiled from NVIDIA locations. I'm not sure if this is a bug in NVIDIA's driver or in the Xserver itself. What could I do to nail this down and get it solved? Would be nice if I could use my laptop as well for presentations with low-res beamers and not always depend on some other laptop for this. Thanks for your time reading all this and for any hint. matthias -- Matthias Apitz t +49-89-61308 351 - f +49-89-61308 399 - m +49-170-4527211 e <guru@unixarea.de> - w http://www.unixarea.de/ People who hate Microsoft Windows use Linux but people who love UNIX use FreeBSD.
