It seems to me excellent that it is the primary port in the future, but this
is not upgrade is a new servant of which it requires tomcat.

And linux_base-fc3 is i386 not amd64!

New linux_base-fc3 port doesn't have this problem. And it is going to
become a default linux base ports at the near future.

To upgrade use smth like:

# portupgrade -o emulators/linux_base-fc3 linux_base-8
# portupgrade -f linux-*
