Hello, I'm a newbie to FreeBSD. I installed the Release-2.2.2 freebsd distribution on my 486 clone . My modem is a Digicom PnP and my FreeBSD is not able to see it. I read from FAQ-section 3"Hardware compatibility" the answer for the PnP modems. First step I took was to compile a new kernel with 'controller pnp0' in the configuration file, what I did successfully. When I reboot the system I don't see any messages about PnP IDs, however I know for sure that my modem is an PnP and also the sound card is PnP. Now , my question, can anybody tell me where to find more documentation regarding the above matter? thanks Gabi To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
