I've not had a problem at all. (HP Omnibook xe3 2116) Its not supported in
4.2-RELEASE, but certianly is in my world dated 23/02/2001

Here is the appropriate bit  from my dmesg:

Unless the driver has been broken since then It shouldnt be a problem.
