CURRENT from 2004-05-30 hangs in the middle of the dump of my /usr partition (and produces a ton of "DUMP: 99.99% done, finished soon" for / and /var). = This is with "/sbin/dump -0auL". I tried CURRENT from 2004-06-02 (after the mbuf changes went in), but = before I could get around to try dump the system crashed. I tried a few more = times, but eventually I had to give up on that kernel because it kept crashing after only a few minutes of operation (and it's a production server, so downtime is no good and all debugging is turned off). I'm also having problems with interrupt storms during ATA probing (no matter what recent kernel I use, and no matter what ACPI & BIOS settings I use), but I'll = post more about that later this week. /Daniel Eriksson > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-freebsd-current@freebsd.org=20 > [mailto:owner-freebsd-current@freebsd.org] On Behalf Of Randy Bush > Sent: den 9 juni 2004 04:53 > To: FreeBSD Current > Subject: snapshot dump hangs >=20 >=20 > i try to dump a live filesys with >=20 > /sbin/rdump 0Luaf remote.sys:/backup/foo/var.dump /dev/twed0s1d >=20 > the screen does >=20 > DUMP: Connection to remote.sys established. > DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Wed Jun 9 01:52:32 2004 > DUMP: Date of last level 0 dump: the epoch > DUMP: Dumping snapshot of /dev/twed0s1d (/var) to=20 > /backup/foo/var.dump on host remote.sys > DUMP: mapping (Pass I) [regular files] > DUMP: mapping (Pass II) [directories] > DUMP: estimated 513616 tape blocks. > DUMP: dumping (Pass III) [directories] > DUMP: dumping (Pass IV) [regular files] >=20 > and then just hangs forever >=20 > there is nothing in /var/.snap >=20 > i can >=20 > mount -u -o snapshot /var/.snap/snap1 /var >=20 > this is horrifyingly reproducable and happens with other source > filesystems. >=20 > any clues? >=20 > randy >=20 > _______________________________________________ > freebsd-current@freebsd.org mailing list > http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-current > To unsubscribe, send any mail to=20 > "freebsd-current-unsubscribe@freebsd.org" >=20
