You won't have them for any new ports you get from cvsup though. I've never done a CD install -- only ftp. By the time I got the 3.4-RELEASE CDs, I had installed my last 3.x server, and I was on the way to installing what was then late versions of 4.0-CURRENT. However, when doing the ftp install, I did select to install the ports subsystem, which I have since CVS'uped on some of my machines. Again, I have to wonder what the frequency of doing things one way versus doing things the other is likely to be. How many people are likely to install from CD or via ftp and include the then-complete ports subsystem (which would give them all the README.html files)? If this is a high enough proportion of the user base, shouldn't we then take a little extra care to make sure that these files stay properly up-to-date, should we ever update the ports system through cvsup or similar methods? -- These are my opinions -- not to be taken as official Skynet policy ====================================================================== Brad Knowles, || Belgacom Skynet SA/NV Systems Architect, Mail/News/FTP/Proxy Admin || Rue Colonel Bourg, 124 Phone/Fax: +32-2-706.13.11/12.49 || B-1140 Brussels http://www.skynet.be || Belgium To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-ports" in the body of the message
