First of all let me introduce my network configuration: I've got 2 interfaced fbsd box which runs natd. First interface looks into internal network: ---------------------------------------------------------------- ed0: flags=8843 mtu 1500 inet 195.1.1.72 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 195.1.1.255 inet 10.0.0.1 netmask 0xffff0000 broadcast 10.0.255.255 inet 212.0.213.11 netmask 0xfffffff8 broadcast 212.0.213.15 ether 00:00:01:09:93:54 Second one is in the outer world: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ed1: flags=8943 mtu 1500 inet 212.0.213.11 netmask 0xfffffff8 broadcast 212.0.213.15 inet 212.0.213.13 netmask 0xfffffff8 broadcast 212.0.213.15 ether 00:40:95:e1:f8:d7 natd use 212.0.213.13 as the alias address. that address is also aliased to outer interface As you may see I use 195.1.1 as internal virtual address space which is diverted by ipfw through natd. _The problem is that transfer rate between outer network and internal network is very weak_ _About 20Kb/sec_ :-( And some times it falls up to 1Kb/sec :-[ ] I noticed that when I put outer interface into promiscuous mode (lets say "trafshow -i ed1") transfer rate grows up to proper value. What could cause this weird behaviour? How could I track down what is the reason of such strange behaviour? Thanks in advance! be good, andy windowz is f#ckin' dead as disco. *nix is comin' back in a big f#ckin' way To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
