We should probably revert whatever change caused this to happen by default since it's very evil and it didn't use to happen. Telling people to rebuild kernels with "PLEASE_DONT_FLICKER_AND_DRIVE_ME_CRAZY" is not much of an option since most folks don't RTFM anyway and they'll just conclude (rightly) that our console driver is broken. - Jordan
