no i dont have an accespoint i can talk to.but the same watchdog timeout comes when i ifconfig it in the ad-hoc mode too.so i think that means the watchdog timeout is not due to lack of access point.its due to something else.wicontrol works fine.also i get watchdog timeout only when i use the ifconfig command.the timeout messages done just come by themselves. just after the wi0 is recognized at the end of boot process i get a message 'ifconfig:Yes:bad value'.is that of any significance? as i told yesterday my wi card links with an 3com card(ad-hoc mode,same channel,same ssid) when its in the ibss mode.but it doesnt link when its in the ad-hoc mode.
