Also, UDMA requires an UDMA cable with 80 conductors
in it, 40 for grounds...

Maxtor drives now ship with this cable although i found
out before they did that cable length is a big issue
on these drives.


No 2 things can be the same, they cannot
exist in the same space at the same time.

Many people I have run across are not aware that UDMA drives require <= 18
inch cables.  Is the cabling you are using for your UDMA drives > 18 inches?
