John,
I tried installing from a 4.7 cd, but was left without any NICs, the
Broadcom 5703X weren't supported, so I used a 4.8-RC1 cd, which worked
perfectly. Unfortunately they're in a datacenter a couple of hours away =
and
afraid I'm unsure of the bios version, we've only got them in the last =
month
or so though. The bios did have Hyperthreading enabled, I tried =
disabling,
but didn't seem to help.

Incidentally I actually have two of them, both running UP for the moment
with MySQL replicating between them and they don't seem to have any =
trouble
with me throwing full dumps of our content database at them.

I've attached the pciconf and mptable output as well as going through =
the
messages and finding the last SMP boot I have.

Thanks,
Andrew
