All three are running FBSD4.0-RELEASE. What I had to do was to type 'make freebsd43 instead of 'make freebsd4' like the documentation says. It wouldn't compile if I did the 'make freebsd4'. From there simply run 'make install-bsd' and then run '/FreeBSD-4.0/kinstall'. All of this needs to be run from the directory you extracted the files into. My directory was '/usr/poert/net/ip_fil3.4.9'. Hope this helps. - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- David Burger E-Mail: david.burger@usa.net Portable: davepcs@deadbbs.com (less than 100 characters) PGP Public Key is available at: http://www.deadbbs.com/pgp/ Web: http://www.deadbbs.com/~burger/ "Your mouse has moved... To make a long story short I wanna install the latest IPfiler. Everything is untarred. My question is how do I install it. There is very poor documentation on this. I do what it says in the README file but it doesn't work. The main problem is that I do not know which directory I need to be in when i do the "make freebsd4" command and so on. I would really like to get this working to test the power of FreeBSD and would greatly appreciate any info concerning this problem. - -Hector To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGPfreeware 6.5.3 for non-commercial use Comment: PGP Public Key at http://www.deadbbs.com/pgp/ iQA/AwUBOZqu8hGKP5i7ErBtEQLqMQCg4uUbn8ss+sZPt/wabdPSQBugRMoAoJ/c LrIczV7FShiq4G+j7wSk00UC =/F2s -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
