Dear FreeBSD'ers, I have just upgraded to 4.1-RC successfully -- sources as of few hours=20 ago.=20 Incidentally, a 'make kernel=3DWHATEVER build/installkernel' actually=20 built /GENERIC, but this is a minor/negligible issue: I rebuilt my=20 customized kernel in the old standard way. I am a little disorient[at]ed albeit I have made a few efforts to=20 track the [endless] discussion of the past few days :-) My understanding was that the build/installkernel procedure served the=20 purpose of making **major** transitions possible, whether or not a=20 major RELEASE upgrade was involved; whereas the well-known "classical"=20 procedure could be used in all other cases/situations. In particular,=20 the "classical" procedure could be employed after ordinary source=20 upgrades. From now on, am I supposed to be systematically using "make=20 build/installkernel each and every time I cvsup my sources ?
