The ports collection was in VERY bad shape for 5.0. I've tried for
over a year to get maintainers and committers to fix broken ports,
without huge success. It was necessary to impose a long freeze period
in order to re-focus people on getting the ports collection in better
shape. We're a long way towards that goal (600 broken ports now
instead of 1200 a few weeks ago), but we're not there yet.

You can do your part by visiting=20

and submitting fixes for broken ports.
