Why do _always_ care for the version number? If the dependency is not installed yet -- the latest one will be built anyway. And if an older version is installed (say freetype-2.0.2) -- who cares? I'm not saying this change is wrong, I just understand, why not omit the library version number altogether (unless it is important -- some bug fixed, etc.)? Like: LIB_DEPEND= freetype2:${PORTSDIR}/.../ Ade is yet to respond (only a month or so).
