Your priority, whether justified or not, has been to > streamline things for our gnome users. This is absolutely untrue. Our goal was to streamline it for both GNOME and noGNOME users, as well as to avoid forking up development. Unfortunately, your constant ignorance made it absolutely impossible to do it without resorting to drive-by commits, as all patches sent to you for review were either rejected without a reason (apparently you didn't even try to understand their purpose, despite long and clear explanation attached to each of those patches), or just silently ignored. For example, I have not received any reply yet on my libintl patches sent to you several months ago. There are at least two FreeBSD committers who observed such misbehaviour (I am and Joe Marcus), so that your words about failure "to cooperate with your fellow commiters" are better applied to you than to anybody else. -Maxim > By splitting this into seperate > ports, we both get what we want, as do the respective user bases we > serve. > > Given that this situation has reached its final, if not somewhat > unfortunate conclusion, I fully expect that you, or other members of the > gnome team, shall make no further commits to the xscreensaver port.
