For home recording you should forget FreeBSD and use Linux instead. For
professional recording it depends on several things, if using Linux is
ok, or if it would be better to use Windows or MacOS as the platform.

Music production isn't a domain of FreeBSD, but I heard of Linux
musicians using BSD software on Linux.
