Hi, Let me take a stab at this, I just started playing with ppp. First, I'd recommend grabbing the latest ppp from www.awfulhak.org, and also go over some of the FAQ pointers there... What is locking up? Just the modem? What brand modem is this? It kind of sounds like it's not smart enough to drop the line when dtr goes low, this should be able to be fixed with the correct init string. Was this taken while the link was up? If so, the default route is wrong. Looking at my machine, my default points to the far end of the tunnel interface. Also, do you have "Gateway=YES" in your rc.conf? That's about all I can think of. I can give you a little more info when I'm at my ppp-running machine...
