Mine looks like:

	*default  host=cvsup3.FreeBSD.org
	*default  base=/usr
	*default  prefix=/usr
	*default  release=cvs
	*default  delete use-rel-suffix
	*default tag=.
	ports-all

Looks like your "release=" line is wrong.
