I'm not confident I wont be out of disk space if the decompressions works but I don't think that is the problem I'm hitting now as even zcat stops at 300 or so MB. > Try running "gunzip -t", which will test the file without uncompressing it. Well I will definitley run out of space when decompression succeeds but I'm only interested in part of the file so zgrep should hopefully save me.
