I'm installing freebsd for the first time and when I get to the point of
installing the files, I get an error of "write on transfer (wrote -1
bytes of 1024 bytes)". I'm useing a maxtor 1240s drive and adaptec 1542
card. I fdisk the drive by using the whole drive and the (all) defaults
selection. Is it a hardware problem or am I not setting up the drive
right in the fdisk? I have rule out a hardware problem. I'm running
out of solutions. Please help.

Sincerely,
Bill Fay
