Aha... Thanks for the tip. Indeed, when I set TERM to cons25r sysinstall
looks better.  It seems, like  it does  not use the  pseudo-graphics for
some parts  of the borders  anymore, which, I  take it, is  explained in
/etc/termcap... Khmm, perhaps, you are right, after all...

BTW, why do I need to change the TERM manually -- in addition to LANG?
