AFAIK C has not changed (?) and K&R 2e is still the standard text: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_C_Programming_Language Learning a new subject on your own from just a textbook can be tough. You might want to join a C programming language community. I think you will find that most C programmers own K&R 2e. David p.s.
