Thanks for the reply. Here is what man 4 apm states: Disk spin-down, LCD backlight control, and power on demand have not been supported on the current version. (I have FreeBSD 4.2-stable.) I guess that means that I CANNOT programmatically TURN OFF (PARK) HDDs?
