I'd be suggesting that Simon quietly lose the BOUNCE_BUFFERS option from his boot floppy for now. It's not really a candidate for your average DPT-wearing system. wrt. the caching thing, it does indeed sound that way. I can't understand Intel; they abandon the P6 for the PII, and manage to come out with a slower, less featureful product for even more $$$. If you get a chance, I think the big money is still on the P6-200/512K mike
