FreeBSD usw3.freebsd.org 4.0-STABLE FreeBSD 4.0-STABLE #0: Fri Apr  7 01:09:21 CDT 2000     root@usw3.freebsd.org:/usr/src/sys/compile/USW3  i386

If it hasn't been designated stable yet, then a lot of people are being
confused every time they run uname(1). :-)

It's -stable now.  Probably more -stable than 3.x if you look at some
people's experiences in the field. :)
