FreeBSD 5.3, Imation USB floppy drive (a rebadged Mitsumi). Works OK, but the probe messages are annoying (and fill my log): Dec 26 22:23:05 stinky kernel: umass0: MITSUMI MITSUMI USB FDD, rev 1.10/1.00, addr 3 Dec 26 22:23:07 stinky kernel: da0 at umass-sim0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0 Dec 26 22:23:07 stinky kernel: da0: <MITSUMI USB FDD 1050> Removable Direct Access SCSI-0 device Dec 26 22:23:07 stinky kernel: da0: 1.000MB/s transfers Dec 26 22:23:07 stinky kernel: da0: 1MB (2880 512 byte sectors: 64H 32S/T 1C) Dec 26 22:23:07 stinky kernel: umass0: Unsupported UFI command 0x35 Dec 26 22:23:07 stinky kernel: (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): Synchronize cache failed, status == 0x6, scsi status == 0x0 Dec 26 22:23:07 stinky kernel: umass0: Unsupported UFI command 0x35 Dec 26 22:23:07 stinky kernel: (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): Synchronize cache failed, status == 0x6, scsi status == 0x0 Dec 26 22:23:08 stinky kernel: umass0: Unsupported UFI command 0x35 Dec 26 22:23:08 stinky kernel: (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): Synchronize cache failed, status == 0x6, scsi status == 0x0 Dec 26 22:23:08 stinky kernel: umass0: Unsupported UFI command 0x35 Dec 26 22:23:08 stinky kernel: (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): Synchronize cache failed, status == 0x6, scsi status == 0x0 Dec 26 22:23:08 stinky kernel: umass0: Unsupported UFI command 0x35 Dec 26 22:23:08 stinky kernel: (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): Synchronize cache failed, status == 0x6, scsi status == 0x0 Dec 26 22:23:08 stinky kernel: umass0: Unsupported UFI command 0x35 Dec 26 22:23:08 stinky kernel: (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): Synchronize cache failed, status == 0x6, scsi status == 0x0 Dec 26 22:23:08 stinky kernel: umass0: Unsupported UFI command 0x35 Dec 26 22:23:08 stinky kernel: (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): Synchronize cache failed, status == 0x6, scsi status == 0x0 And that was just *one* insertion. On 4.10 it's quiet (and works). Any way that I can shut it up? I see this has been raised in the past, but I didn't see any resolutions. -- Dave
